5 Benefits of incorporating the poll in your Instagram Stories
Though you probably aren't new to the Instagram Stories poll feature, you may be uncertain about how exactly it can be used to help grow your business and profits from online. Today I'm going share with you 5 benefits of incorporating this feature into your stories. Check them out below!
- You can create products from the poll
As entrepreneurs and content creators, one of the toughest things to figure out is what your audience really wants. How much easier would it be if you knew exactly what content to deliver that would not only be enjoyable, but profitable? With the Instagram poll, you are able to give your audience a say in new products or projects by having them vote on what they enjoy best or what they want to see from you next. Look at it like a survey that gives you the outline to what your audience needs from you.
- The Poll helps to increase engagement
We’ve all heard about the troubles one can have with expanding their reach due to Instagram’s algorithm. One way to win that war is to increase the amount of time someone spends on your page. With the poll, it causes a person to think, then give their opinion through tapping on the poll. This can increase the amount of time spent on your page, which leads to more brand awareness.
- The poll helps you connect with your audience
Social media is about being social! Instagram stories are a great place to show the more in depth part of your life and/or brand. That doesn’t mean that you have to share every single detail of your personal life, but it does require intimate moments. Things like behind the scenes, inspiring and interesting finds and asking your audience’s opinions on new projects.
Find ways to connect and include the poll into those intimate moments by asking your audience to vote on your next launch, or which items they prefer best from you. Whenever you give people a chance to give their opinion, it makes them feel included and connected, which ultimately leads them to trust and buy from you.
- The poll creates a sense of urgency
FOMO is real! Yes, the fear of missing out is probably one of the greatest encouragers to take action. We’ve been able to capitalize on that by using the poll to create FOMO with our events. We simply ask our audience leading up to our live date on whether they have gotten their tickets or not, and people have the ability to choose their answer. For those who have gotten their tickets, it builds excitement knowing that there are others who are just like them. For those who haven’t, it creates a sense of longing to want and be part of the event with others. Adding this feature to our advertisement has caused us to double the attendance of our events and online courses.
- The poll can be used to sell
One of the top questions I get on a consistent basis is how to sell without sounding too pushy. Just putting up a traditional ad can be affective, but may be overlooked over time. A way to get customers thinking about your products or services, is to ask them what they think about them or which they prefer if you offer multiple things. For example, for my passport covers, I could post the orange and the purple case, and then ask my audience which they prefer. It doesn’t necessarily call for a hard sell, but it gets them thinking about which item they prefer. This is a great lead to get them over to my site, which makes it more likely that they’d buy. You can do the same for your brand. It builds awareness and sells at the same time.
